Lake James Dragon Boat Festival Sponsors
SPONSOR THIS EVENT
The Lake James Dragon Boat Festival began with the formation of the Healing Dragons of Lake James, a team made up of breast cancer survivors. Early detection is the key in fighting breast cancer, and regular mammograms help catch the disease in its earliest stages. However, many women do not have insurance and can’t afford a screening mammogram. Proceeds from the Lake James Dragon Boat Festival will go to provide mammograms for these local women. In 2020-21, UNC Health Blue Ridge provided 172 women with free breast imaging procedures.
